Mangaluru, Oct 11 : 'UDHKANTH UDKANA - 2021', an Inter-Ward Water Games Competition was conducted on 2nd October, 2021 at Lourdes Central School Ground from 1:30pm to 4:15 pm by ICYM Bejai with the help of YCS.

The event started with a prayer song by Arel and Alma from ICYM. The main guests for the event were Rev Fr J. B Saldanha - Parish  Priest of St. Francis Xavier Church, Bejai, Fr. Suraj Lobo - Asst Parish Priest, Fr. Robert Dsouza -  Principal of Lourdes Central School, Bejai, Fr. Stany Pinto - Campus Incharge of St. Philomena college, Puttur, Fr Ronson Pinto - ICYM ECD Director, Teena Pashao - ICYM ECD Secretary, Sharon Pinto - active ICYM Member of Belthangady Deanery,  Alwyn Dsouza - ICYM ECD Amcho Yuvak representative, Mr. Ashok Pinto- Vice president of Parish Pastoral Council, Mrs. Preethi Gomes - Secretary of PPC, Mr. Rohan Sequiera - Animator of ICYM , Ms. Shiny Lewis - President ICYM Bejai, Ms Carol Santhumayor - ICYM Secretary and Mr. Deniel Dsouza - ICYM Sports Secretary.

Ms. Shiny Lewis welcomed the gathering. The inauguration was done in a unique way by setting a bird free. Rev Fr J. B Saldanha gave a meaningful message and encouraged the ward members to perform well. 

11 teams participated in this competition, they are: Pais Garden, Barebail Vyasnagar, Kapikad Upper, Kapikad Lower, Yeyyadi, Sankaigudda, Shedigudda, Kodialguthu, Museum B, Battagudda and C.M Lower. 

Fr. Stany Pinto was given the main Incharge to conduct the water games and 13 games were conducted. The ward members performed extremely well and tried to  make their ward win.

The winners are : 
1st place - Pais Garden
2nd Place- Barebail Vyasnagar
3rd place - Kapikad Upper

The winners were given a trophy and medals and the others received consolation prizes. The vote of thanks was done by Deniel D'Souza and the MC was done by Sonali Rodrigues.
