Media Release

Mangaluru, Aug 16, 2023 : Most Rev Dr Peter Paul Saldanha, Bishop of Mangalore Diocese, released the Konkani book titled 'Dev Manshant Ailo - Jeju Christachem Jivit' written on the life of Jesus Christ by the famous Konkani poet and writer Mr. Marian Paul Rodrigues, at Milagris Senate Hall. "The word of God is like the sunshine of the sun. If some people read and become good, there are others who read the word of God and use it differently. This book written by Marian Paul Rodrígues will be helpful to understand the word of God closely", opined Bishop Dr Saldanha.

Milagres Church Parish priest Rev Fr Bonaventure Nazareth introduced and welcomed the guests. Author Marian Paul Rodrigues said, "It was my long-standing desire to write about the life of Jesus Christ. But the desire did not materialize as I was working in the Gulf country for about thirty years. After retirement, the desire rekindled when I returned to my homeland. But, my health deteriorated. However, with determination, I studied for nine consecutive years and prepared a book of about 540 pages. The official permission ('imprimatur') to publish this book has been given by Bishop Peter Paul Saldanha. I am indebted to the Bishop and everyone involved, especially my family."

Marian Paul Rodrígues said on the occasion that "My mission is to give real awareness to people about Jesus Christ and to help the underprivileged with the proceeds from book sales."

During the book launch, the author's wife Mrs. Jacintha Rodrigues, son Dr. Jonathan Rodrigues, Publisher of Sevak Prakasan Fr Chetan Capuchin, Milagres Church Pastoral Committee Vice President Mr. Sylvester Mascarenhas and Secretary Mrs. Jacintha Fernandes were present on the stage.
