Mangaluru, June 12 : The third day of Triduum in preparation for the annual feast of St Anthony of Padua was held on June 12, 2023, at St Anthony Shrine, Milagres Church, Mangaluru.

Rev. Fr Rocky D'Cunha CAP, Superior, St Anne’s Friary, Bejai celebrated the Eucharist and prayed for the residents of St Anthony Ashram. The concelebrants were Rev. Fr J B Crasta and Rev. Fr Nelson Peris, St Anthony Ashram, and Jeppu.

Fr Rocky preached on the theme, “The Word of God is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path.” Fr Rocky said, “Jesus was able to do his mission through the help of the Word of God. St Anthony of Padua lived his life with the power of the Word of God. He proclaimed the Word of God with great fervour. The one who trusts in the Word of God and lives according to it will prosper in life.”

At the end of the mass, Fr J B Crasta, director of the Ashram led the novena in honour of St Anthony, during which the special intercession of the session was sought for the various needs and prayer intentions of the devotees.

Choir members of Angelore Parish led the choir and joined in the thanksgiving. Payasam (sweet dish) was served to all the devotees who attended the devotion.

The annual feast of St Anthony will be tomorrow, June 13, 2023.
6.00 am (Konkani Mass) – St Anthony Ashram, Jeppu
8.15 am (Konkani Mass)- Milagres Chruch
11.00 am (Konkani Mass) – St Anthony Ashram
4.00 pm (Malayalam Mass) – Milagres Church
6.00 am (Konkani Mass) - Milagres Church

Celebrants:

Most Rev. Dr Ignatius Dsouza, bishop of Bareilly will be the main celebrant for the 11 am mass at St Anthony Ashram Jeppu.

Most Rev. Dr Peter Paul Saldanha, Bishop of Mangalore will be the main celebrant for the main festive Holy Mass at Milagres Church at 6.00 pm.

Closing of 125 Years Jubilee:

The Concluding celebrations of the Post Centenary Silver Jubilee of St Anthony’s Charitable Institutions will coincide tomorrow.
