Puttur , Nov 11 : The Annual General Body Meeting of the Parent-Teacher Association of St Philomena College held on November 10, 2023, at the SJM Hall of the college. Prof. M Balakrishna Shetty, the Principal of Sri Ramakrishna College, Mangaluru graced the occasion as the chief guest. In his address, Prof. Shetty underscored the pivotal role of parents and guardians in the contemporary world, emphasizing the need for them to focus on instilling positive values in the youth for the betterment of society.

The AGM was presided over by Very Rev. Fr Lawrence Mascarenhas, Correspondent of the college. He highlighted the critical importance of the collaboration between teachers and parents within the current education system. He stressed that parents should be well acquainted with their children’s experiences in the modern world. Rev. Dr Antony Prakash Monteiro, honourable principal of the college wished the parents a better tomorrow filled with serene contentment with their beloved children. The Vice President of the Mai De Deus Church Parish Pastoral Council extended warm wishes to all.

The College annual magazine for the academic year 2022-23 ‘Philo Prabha’ was released during the proceedings. Mr Vinayachandra, editor of the annual magazine managed the proceedings.

Sri Krishna Prasad Alva, the President of the Parent-Teacher Association, extended a cordial welcome to all present. Dr Vijayakumar Moleyar, Head of the Department of Kannada, proposed vote of thanks. Mr Prashanth Rai, Secretary of the Parent-Teacher Association, and M. Rajeshwari, compered the program.
