Moodbidri, Dec 18 : In celebration of the ICYM Moodbidri Golden Jubilee, a spirited Carol Singing Competition unfolded on December 17, 2023, at 3:30 PM in the Corpus Christi Church Hall, Moodbidri. The event brought together parishioners, dignitaries, and enthusiasts for an evening filled with musical prowess.

V.Rev.Fr.Onil Dsouza- Parish priest Corpus Christi Church Moodbidri, Mr.Vincent Dsouza - Vice president of parish council , Mr. Vincent Mascarenhas - Convener of ICYM Golden Jubilee, Mr.Roni Crasta and Miss.Sonal Monteiro - Judges of the Competition, Mr. Kevin D'Souza and Mr. Royston Pinto - Animators of ICYM Moodbidri, Mr. Reuben Serrao- President ICYM Moodbidri unit,  Mr. Galvin Pinto - Secretary ICYM Moodbidri unit and other  committee conveners were present.

The event commenced with a warm welcome by Mr. Reuben Serrao, President of ICYM Moodbidri unit, followed by Ms. Carol Rebello elucidating the competition rules. Subsequently, 11 wards showcased their vocal talents, making the evening resonant with festive melodies.

Claiming the top spot was Team St. Mother Teresa Ward, securing 1st place, followed by the impressive performance of Team Pompei Ward in 2nd place and Team St. Antony Ward clinching the 3rd position. The judges, Miss. Sonal Monteiro and Mr. Rony Crasta, offered insightful feedback, enriching the participants' musical journey.

Expressing gratitude, Mr. Roni Crasta commended ICYM Moodbidri unit for orchestrating the successful event and shared musical harmony with his daughter through a Hindi duet. Mr. Vincent Mascarenhas announced the winners, while Mr. Galvin Pinto, Secretary of ICYM Moodbidri unit, delivered a heartfelt vote of thanks. The event was skillfully compered by Mr. Lionel Joshua Menezes, adding a vibrant touch to the jubilant celebration.
