Moodbidri, Dec 8 : The Indian Catholic Youth Movement Shirthady Unit in association with A.J. Hospital, Mangalore under ICYM Red Drop Account organized a blood donation camp on 4th December 2022 at Primary Health Centre Shirthady.

The program commenced with an inaugural program which was presided over by the President of Sauhardha Friends Club Shirthady Mr. Praveen Jain. The Parish Council Secretary Mrs. Jacintha Rodrigues, Head of A.J. Blood Bank Mangalore Mr. Gopal Krishna, Chief of the Program Dr. Ashirvad, Member of HDFC Bank Mangalore Mr. Kiran, Unit President Arrel Pinto and ICYM Shirthady Animator Chintan Lobo were present on the dais.

The program began with a prayer song led by ICYM members. The camp was inaugurated with the lighting of lamp. The camp commenced at 9:00 am. ICYM President Arrel Pinto welcomed the gathering. Dr. Ashirvad shared his thoughts about blood donation and Mr. Gopal Krishna spoke about the importance of blood donation and encouraged the youth and youngsters. The vote of thanks was given by Jaison Pereira Shirthady.

Approximately 71 members were registered for donating blood, but only 55 members were eligible to donate blood. As a token of gratitude, the hospital staff handed over Memento to ICYM Shirthady and congratulated them for organizing this event and encouraged them to organize many more in future.
