Bantwal, March 25 : The feast of the Annunciation on 25th March 2017 was a day of joy and gratitude for the sisters of Shanthi Rani Convent Siddakatte here. It’s a day of celebration and jubilation for the silver years of the community in the history of Bethany.
Shanthi Rani Convent is situated in the vicinity of Siddakatte between Bantwal and Belthangady Taluk. The convent is surrounded by lush greenery. It welcomes everyone with warmth and joy and helps to be fresh and energetic. It reminds the hard works of Sr Medela who had toiled day and night and fulfilled the dream of the congregation Founder RFC Mascarenhas along with Sr Bernadette, Sr Lawrencia, Sr Vincent, Sr Jane, Sr Angus, Sr Benedicta, Sr Christine and Sr Clementine who worked hard to bring up rubber plantation there. Sr Edna, Sr Evangelista, and later Sr Carita have rendered service as Superiors to continue this mission.

The Silver Jubilee Mass was officiated by Rev Fr Antony Lasardo, the Parish Priest of Siddakatte. After the Eucharist, Sr Medela , Sr Bernadette, Sr Lawrencia, Sr Vincent, the pioneer sisters, and superiors Sr Edna, Sr Evangelista and Sr Carita were felicitated by Bethany Provincial Superior Sr Cicilia Mendonca. Thereafter, she congratulated, appreciated and thanked the past and present members of the community and called on the community to continue the mission with trust and confidence in the Almighty God and Queen of peace their patron.
Congratulations to Sr Carita for her enterprising leadership along with the community sisters: Sr Ronaldine, Sr Leandra and Sr Shanthi Flavia.
