Moodbidri, Aug 8 : Indian Catholic Youth Movement (ICYM) Hospet unit organized ‘Laudato Si’ - a Vanamahotsav and sapling distribution program to parishioners on Sunday, 6th August 2023 at 9 AM in the premises of Holy Cross Church, Hospet.

Rev Fr Gregory D'Souza - Parish Priest, presided over the program, along with Mr. Manohar Cutinha - Vice President of Parish Pastoral Council Hospet; Mrs. Laveena Pinto - 21 Commissions Coordinator, Mr. Prajwal Tellis - Environment Commission Coordinator, Selwin Jude Colaco, Denis Fernandes, and Leena Tellis - Animators ICYM Hospet Unit.

Unit President Nikhil Jason Correa welcomed the gathering. Rev. Fr. Gregory D'souza inaugurated the program by distributing saplings to dignitaries. As a sign of Vanamahotsav, the dignitaries and ICYM members planted saplings around the church premises. Mr. Manohar Cutinha addressed the gathering and stressed out the importance of Vanamahotsav.  

During this program, more than 250 saplings were distributed to each parishioner, symbolizing their individual roles in nurturing and safeguarding nature. Around 20 youth took part in this program, adding their efforts to promote a greener and sustainable future for our planet.

The program came to an end with a vote of gratitude from Unit Secretary- Ivy Sonal Rodrigues. Glany Vinita Colaco compered the whole program.
