Moodbidri, Dec 30 : On the auspicious occasion of Christmas eve, Indian Catholic Youth Movement (ICYM) unit of Holy Cross church, Hospet celebrated Christmas with the parishioners. Rev Fr Gregory D’Souza - Parish Priest; Manohar Cutinha - Vice President of Parish Pastoral Council Hospet; Vincent Santhmayor - Secretary of Parish Pastoral Council Hospet; Selwin Jude Colaco, Denis Fernandes, and Leena Tellis - Animators ICYM Hospet Unit; Melisha Mendonca - President of ICYM Hospet Unit and Perlin Tellis - Secretary of ICYM Hospet Unit were present for the event. Preceded by cake cutting, games like lucky draw, housie housie were conducted and prizes were distributed to the winners. Dances by ICYM, YCS, Marian Sodality and Altar Boys were performed. Cake and juice was distributed to everyone present.

Other unique initiatives by ICYM Hospet :

1. As part of Christmas preparations, the ICYM Hospet Unit organized carols and went door-to-door throughout the parish to spread the joy of the season.

2. On 17th and 18th of December ‘Kuswar Bazar’ - Kuswar Sale program was held after the mass which benefited the parishioners.

3. While a Crib and Star was prepared by the ICYM members in the church premises, a Crib competition was also held for the parishioners.

4. On the 25th of December morning, ICYM members visited the old and sick, distributed kuswar and spent some time with them.

5. In the afternoon, 'Christmas Cup - 2k22' a cricket tournament was held for the parishioners.
