Mangaluru, March 14, 2017: St Anthony of Padua is not only dear to us Catholics but also to the brethren of other faith. Here in Jail road, Mangalore Capuchins have a shrine of St Anthony of Padua which has been a place of devotion and a blessing for countless people who pass through this shrine every day.

Recently an ardent devotee of St Anthony came up with her generous contribution to renovate and paint the shrine. On March 14 at 6.30 pm, the friars of St Anne's friary gathered together with the faithful and conducted the novena and blessing ceremony of the renovated shrine. Fr Manohar, who also celebrated his birthday on the same day, conducted the ceremony of the blessing. All the faithful lighted the candles.

Fr Melwyn, the guardian thanked the donor Mrs Doris Dsouza for her generous heart. As the mark of celebration sweets were distributed to all the faithful gathered.
