Mangaluru, Dec 4 : As a part of the World Aids Day Celebration, Snehalaya Charitable Trust in collaboration with the MCC Bank Ltd conducted a programme on December 4th, 2022. The programme was conducted in the MCC Bank Auditorium, Hampankatta, Mangalore. The world observes World AIDS Day on December 1 of every year. People get together from all over the world to support those affected by and living with HIV as well as to commemorate those who lost their lives due to AIDS. The theme for World Aids Day 2022 is 'Equalize.'

The students from St. Aloysius College under the leadership of Ms.Carol and Students from HPR Para-Medical college under the leadership of Principal Mrs.Rehana conducted various Cultural Programmes and Games for the PLHIV.

The programme was inaugurated by Mr.Rakesh, Alukkas Pvt Ltd. Mangalore and Felicitation was given by Bro.Joseph Crasta, Founder of Snehalaya Charitable Trust.

After the cultural events, there was an amazing Magic Performance by Fr.Paul Sebastian D Souza. The Body Building show by Mr.Joslan Derick D souza was well appreciated by the audience. Team Hongirana also put up a superb Show.

In the Valedictory Program, prizes were given out to the winners of various games. The presence of Mr.Vasanth Shetty, Lion's Multiple Council Chairman, Mangalore, Mr.Anil Lobo Chairman MCC Bank Ltd, Mr.Sunil Menezes The General Manager of MCC Bank Ltd, Mangalore, Bro Joseph Crasta, Founder, Trustees and Staffs of Snehalaya were present for the Programme. Altogether 250 PLHIV joined for the extravaganza. Mrs.Vasanthi and Mrs.Renitta PLHIV shared their experience on this Special Day.

Today, Snehalaya recognizes that HIV prevention is a public health priority and essential for the health and wellbeing of individuals, families and communities. They understand the need to reduce stigma and discrimination and to ensure equal access to healthcare services for those affected by HIV and AIDS.

To this end, they have taken a number of initiatives to help spread awareness and support HIV prevention efforts. Throughout the year, they have provided support to those affected by HIV and AIDS, helping them to access healthcare services and providing emotional and psychological support. They have also provided financial assistance and Food kits to help the PLHIV.

Snehalaya is committed to continuing their work in HIV prevention, and they hope that their efforts will help to reduce the impact of HIV and AIDS on individuals, families and communities. They believe that with continued education and awareness, they can all make a difference.
