Thirthahalli, March 20 : Yesusparsha Team led by Fr Franklin D'Souza began their Three days' Lenten Retreat at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Thirthahalli, Diocese of Shimoga on March 17, 2023.

At 9am Parish Priest Rev. Fr Stephen Maxi Albuquerque welcomed Yesusparsha Team members: Fr Franklin D'Souza, Bro. T. K. George, Pro-life Manjula Joy and Bro. Harshith Castelino.

Then Prolife Manjula Joy led the Holy Rosary. At 9:20am Fr Franklin D'Souza and Bro. Harshith Castelino led the Praise and Worship.

At 10am Prolife Manjula Joy spoke on "God's love and shared her testimony". At 10:45am Bro. T. K. George spoke on "Jesus Christ the Savior". In his talk he explained who is Jesus? Why did he come to this world? and how to experience his salvation in our lives?.

At 12pm Fr Franklin D'Souza spoke on "Importance of the Word of God in our Catholic life". He based his teachings on John 6:60-69, Mark 12:24, Hosea 4:6, Isaiah 55:10-11 & Hebrews 4:12.

Lunch was served for all at 1pm.

At 1:45pm Fr Franklin D'Souza and Bro. Harshith Castelino led the Praise and Worship. 2pm Fr Franklin D'Souza led the "Way of the Cross ". At 2:30pm Bro. T. K. George spoke on "Jesus Christ the healer" At 3:15pm Fr Franklin D'Souza led the healing adoration. Retreat concluded with the Holy Eucharist celebrated by Fr Franklin D'Souza at 4pm. In his homily Fr Franklin D'Souza spoke on the greatest commandment i. e., Love.

Retreat concluded at 5pm.

Day 2 :

The Second day's Retreat began at 9am on March 18 with Holy Rosary led by Prolife Manjula Joy. At 9:20am Fr Franklin D'Souza and Bro. Harshith Castelino led the Praise and Worship.

At 10am Prolife Manjula Joy spoke on "importance of life". At 10:45am Bro. T. K. George spoke on "Sin and its Consequences". At 12pm Fr Franklin D'Souza spoke on "How the Holy Spirit sustains us in our faith". He based his teachings on John 5: 4-10, Col 1:13-14, 2 Tim 1:7, Eph 6:10-18, 1 Cor 12:1-11 & Gal 5:22-23.

Lunch was served for all at 1pm.

At 1:45pm Fr Franklin D'Souza and Bro. Harshith Castelino led the Praise and Worship. At 2:30pm Bro. T. K. George spoke on "Family is the gift of God". At 3:30pm Fr Franklin D'Souza led the healing adoration.

At 4:30pm Fr Franklin D'Souza celebrated Holy Eucharist together with Fr Stephen Maxi Albuquerque and Deacon Devasya.

Retreat concluded at 5pm.

Day 3 :

Third and Final day's Lenten Retreat began at 9am on March 19 with Holy Rosary led by Prolife Manjula Joy. At 9:20am Fr Franklin D'Souza and Bro. Harshith Castelino led the Praise and Worship.

At 10am Prolife Manjula Joy spoke "Forgiveness brings healing". At 10:45am Fr Franklin D'Souza spoke on "Genuine Repentance brings healing". He based his teaching on Psalm 32:1-6. At 11:45am Bro. T. K. George spoke on "Commandments and Biblical blessings".

Lunch was served for all at 1pm.

At 1:45pm Fr Franklin D'Souza and Bro. Harshith Castelino led the Praise and Worship. At 2pm Blessed Sacrament was exposed and confessions were organised at the Church Hall. Bro. T. K. George, Prolife Manjula Joy and Bro. Harshith Castelino led the Adoration.  At 4pm Fr Franklin D’Souza led the anointing session .

At 4:30pm Fr Franklin D'Souza celebrated Holy Eucharist together with Fr Stephen Maxi Albuquerque and Deacon Devasya.

Parish Priest Fr Stephen Maxi Albuquerque thanked the Yesusparsha Team.

Retreat concluded at 5:30pm.

A good number of faithful attended the retreat.
