Sancoale - Goa, Nov 8 : The Congregation of the Sisters of Holy Family of Nazareth rejoiced and praised God on 7th November 2023, as their member Sr. Severina Gonsalves sfn, celebrated fifty years of her Religious Life with a eucharistic celebration ‘Moga Seve Khatir Argam Tuka Somia’ as its theme and get together at Holy Family Convent, Sancoale. The family members, relatives, friends and well-wishers participated and added joy with their presence. Fr. Joseph Nazareth sj, celebrated the Eucharist along with Frs. Peter D Melo, sfx and Fr. Roblan, the assistant of Sancoale Parish.

The main celebrant elaborated the goodness of Sr. Severina, how he experienced her love, concern and compassion and guidance. It was at a time when he wanted to leave society. However, with the simple words of wisdom from Sr. Severina, he said I am still a priest today.

Sr. Severine hails from Santa Cruz, the only daughter was born on 24th November who chose to commit her life to Jesus and professed her first vows on 7th November 1973. She served the Congregation and the Church with her committed and dedicated service with passion for long years in the clerical department at Perpetual Succour Convent High School Navelim, Pastoral work, family visits and in the mission of Ajra in Maharashtra after her retirement.

A person with green fingers. I remember as a student of Perpetual Succour Convent, Navelim, the garden was colourful with a variety of rose plants besides vegetable garden. Very responsible, clean and methodical in her given tasks. She still continues her mission by praying for the church and the world as she lives at Eleanora Linse Bhavan, Sancoale.

With a grateful heart she thanked God and everyone, with a few words of gratitude, appreciation and thanksgiving.

The Holy Family Music School Choir helped the gathering to participate in the Eucharist with their melodious voices.

After cutting the cake, with love and gratitude, the SFN sisters presented a mando on Sr. Severina's life in honouring her.
