Puttur, Dec 17, 2021 : St. Philomena College became the Mangalore University Champion in the recently concluded Mangalore University level Football tournament held at Alva’s College, Moodabidire. The tournament was jointly organized by Mangalore University and Alva’s College.
The colleges affiliated to Mangalore University were grouped into Udupi and Mangalore zones. The victorious four Colleges were moved to the quarter finals. St. Philomena College and St. Aloysius College reached the finals.
In the final, St. Philomena College beat St. Aloysius College by 1-0 goal in the closely contested match and became University Champions. Solomon Roshan Joseph captained the team. Prof. Elyas Pinto has given the coaching for the victorious team.
