Mangaluru, Jan 30, 2021 : Commemorating India’s 72nd Republic Day, the staff and the students of St Joseph Engineering College (SJEC), Vamanjoor came together to celebrate a patriotic day in the campus. Dr Vincent Cratsa, HOD of the Physics Department was the Chief Guest on the occasion. Rev. Fr Wilfred Prakash D’Souza, Director of SJEC; Rev. Fr Alwyn Richard D’Souza, Assistant Director of SJEC; Dr Rio D’Souza, Principal of SJEC; Mr Rakesh Lobo, HR Manager of SJEC were also present.

The celebrations began with a patriotic song followed by the hoisting of the National Flag by the Chief Guest. The security personnel of SJEC led the gathering in saluting the National Flag and rendering the National Anthem.

In his address, Dr Vincent called upon the youth of today to contribute to the building of the nation, to renew the tasks at hand with greater vigour to make India a world power, to take India to its rightful place in the world order and to make this country a better place to live for the generations to come.

Although the formal function was a short one, the day was filled with happiness and patriotic fervour all around!
