Mangaluru, Feb 21 : The 'Adrenaline' youth festival , an annual event of the Father Muller Medical College was launched here with the inauguration of an Art Exhibition – 'KRITI'.

The Chief guest for the inaugural was Dr Akther Hussain, Dean Yenepoya Dental College, who also is a world renowned artist whose painting and murals adorn houses of power and repute.

In his address, he profoundly congratulated the organizers for envisaging such event and that art and culture were the means of passion to showcase one’s self to the world. He remembered his days in St Aloysius, when Fr Lawrence gave him the key to the museum to feel the art and sense the exhibits and books and relays its colours on canvas. This imprinted in him the artist and even though how busy he got, his art never left his side.

Rev Fr Richard A. Coleho, Director Father Muller Charitable Institutions, in his presidential address essayed the humanist nature of an artist. The artist thinks, ponders, assimilates and put forth’s the essence of life on paper, clay or stone. Artist a many, are calm, contemplating individuals who have a peaceful thought of their surroundings. He remembered during his College days Akhter’s popularity during the college elections. Akther, though his senior never made anyone feel so during his stint in the college. He lauded the efforts of the Adrenaline organisers for setting up an art exhibition and Dr Erel for bringing something new to the campus.

Rev Fr Ajith B Menezes, Administrator FMMC, Dr J.P. Alva, Dean FMMC, Prof. Dr Erel Diaz, Prof Dr Suresh (HOD Radiology), Dr Lenon and D Mahesh were present on the podium. Dr Padmaja Udaykumar graced the event with other staff and students. Ms Shruthi compered the event.
