Mangaluru, Jan 26, 2024 : Republic Day is a celebration of India’s commitment to democracy, justice, liberty, equality, "May harmony spread everywhere", with this message, St. Agnes High school celebrated the Republic Day  . It was a day with filled with patriotic fervor. Celebration of Republic Day commenced by unfurling the national flag by the Headmistress Sr. Gloria A.C. The students paid respect to the nation by singing Vande Mataram, which invoked a sense of devotion and patriotism. Sr. Noreen A.C Principal, St. Agnes PU College, Sr. Janet A.C Vice principal, PTA executive Committee member Mrs. Gowri and students of the High School and College were present.

Later the students assembled in the school hall for the cultural program presented by class 8A . The stage program began with the devout prayer service which reflected the values of democracy, with the prayers for unity, brotherhood and peace of the nation. Ancilla welcomed the staff and the students, which was followed by rhythmic welcome dance. Chaithra enlightened the gathering on the 75th Republic Day celebration. The song with enactment of gender equality, caste system, education and adult franchise captured the essence of the constitution.

Prathiviraj recited the poem on Dr B.R Ambedkar, which was a respectful tribute to the key architect of the Indian constitution. The whole class sang the group song.

“MANAVARAGONA” with a sense of love and fellowship towards the other fellow beings. In her speech the Headmistress Sr. Gloria commended the students and the class teacher, Mrs. Wilma Veigas for the dedicated efforts in organizing and executing the whole program. She called the students to follow the values enshrined in the Constitution. The programme concluded with a thankful note delivered by Thasleema.
