Puttur , Jan 1, 2022 : Catholic Board of Education (CBE), Mangalore has appointed Rev. Dr Antony Prakash Monteiro as the new Principal of St. Philomena College, Puttur.

Prof. Leo Noronha who has served as the Principal of the College for the last twelve years transferred to Sacred Heart College, Madanthyar due to personal reasons and in his place, Rev. Dr Antony Prakash Monteiro, assistant Professor in the Department of Physics, has been appointed as the Principal.

The farewell meeting was arranged in the Principal chamber and Rev. Fr. Jerome Lawrence Mascrenhas, the correspondent of the College lauded the immense contribution of outgoing Principal, Prof. Leo Noronha to the institution. He served the institution with the highest degree of integrity, said Rev. Fr. Jerome Lawrence Mascrenhas.

Prof. Ganesh Bhat, the secretary of Staff Association complemented the service rendered by Prof. Leo Noronha to the College and the education at large.

Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Leo Noronha, expressed his feelings. "The college is actually my second home and I have tried my best to rectify and modify them with love and affection that worked many a times, and with satisfaction but with heavy heart I am leaving now the great institution", said Prof. Leo Noronha.

Rev. Dr Antony Prakash Monteiro also spoke on the occasion and wished good health and contentment to Prof. Leo Noronha.

Rev. Fr Vijay Lobo, the Principal of St. Philomena Pre University College, Rev. Fr Stany Pinto, the Campus Director, Rev. Fr Ashok Rayan Crasta, the warden and Professor of Commerce PG section, Mr. Mauris Mascarenhas, Mr. Valerian J Fernandes, Mr. Xavier D’Souza, Mr. John Cutinho and other members of Governing Council, the teaching and non-teaching staff of the College were present on the occasion of farewell to the beloved Principal of the College.
