Mangaluru, Oct 21 : BLA day celebration of Vamanjoor unit was held at St Ryamond’s Convent, Vamanjoor at 5.30pm with the thanksgiving Eucharistic celebration officiated by Rev Fr Rovel DSouza OCD on 20th October 2021. During the Eucharistic celebration seven of the BLA members made their commitment and the rest of them renewed their commitment. The Identity cards were distributed by Sr Anna Maria the Province BLA Coordinator. Fr Rovel in his homily stressed the importance of Prayer, attentive listening to the word of God and loving service to humanity. It was followed by a cultural programme.

Sr Cicilia Mendonca the Provincial Superior, Sr Anna Maria the Province BLA Coordinator. Sr Gracy Monica the Superior St Raymond’s Convent, Vamanjoor, Mr Jochim Dsouza the President and Mrs Felcy Pinto the Secretary were present on the dais. At the very outset Sr Gracy Monica welcomed the gathering. Sisters of the community greeted the BLA members with a greeting song. Mrs Felcy Pinto presented the brief report of BLA. Mrs Daisy shared her experience of being a BLA member for the past 15 years. Sr Anna Maria enlightened the gathering by saying that they need to sit at the feet of Jesus like Mary and experience God’s goodness. Sr Cicilia Mendonca appreciated all the BLA members for their presence and invited each one of them to carry on the message of Christ with the theme of synod 2021-2023 i.e., communion, participation and mission. She congratulated those who made their commitment.

Members were enthused with few entertainment games conducted by Sr Melisha and Sr Reshma. Mr Jochim DSouza the President of Vamanjoor unit proposed vote of thanks and Sr Cicilia Mendonca prayed for grace over the meal. Sr Jasmine Wilma the local coordinator compeered the cultural programme.

The total membership of Vamanjoor BLA unit is 41. Among them 30 were present for the occasion. The fellowship meal was served. It was indeed a memorable event during the post Centenary year of Bethany Congregation.
