Mangaluru, Aug 22 : With the motive of bringing together the youth and having a fun filled day with knowledge, dance, games and fun, Indian Catholic Youth Movement, St Joseph Vaz, Mangalore South Deanery hosted "YouNITE - 2023 : Synergy of Diverse Minds" youth event on 13th of August 2023 at St. Sebastian English Medium Hall, Permannur.

The program began with a prayer song followed by a unique inauguration of the program. Ms Jevita Freneta Ferrao welcomed the gathering. V. Rev. Fr Cyprian Pinto, Vicar Vara, St Joseph Vaz Deanery presided over the program, who in his speech motivated the youth to attend more of such informative sessions. Rev. Fr Jayapraksh Dsouza - director, ICYM, Mangalore South Deanery, Mr. Arun Dsouza - vice president, parish pastoral council, Mr Delwin Dsouza - vice president, ICYM, Mangalore diocese, Br Loy Permannur, Ms Flavitha Molita Dsouza - President, ICYM, Permannur, Ms Jevita Freneta Ferrao and Ms Ashvia Anna Lasrado - President and Secretary, ICYM Mangalore South Deanery were present on the dais. Ms Ashvia Anna Lasrado rendendered the vote of thanks.

Mr Lanvin Lobo, Derebail gave the first session on the topic 'Ladder of Life' and conducted various activities which made this topic more creative and understandable. The session was followed by the celebration of the eucharistic mass at noon by Rev Fr Jayaprakash Dsouza, followed by lunch.

The second session of the day was conducted by Fr Anil Fernandes, on 'Impact of Social Media' - Exploring Digital and Spiritual Well-being.

The executive committee conducted various games, fun activities, dance to make the day more memorable. The youth were divided in 8 groups and the group who got the highest points in the games were given a prize.

Mr Jaison Dsouza, Fajir was felicitated by Rev. Fr Jayaprakash Dsouza on being elected as the Auditor for ICYM, Mangalore Diocese for the year 2023 - 24.

ICYM Central council president Mr. Mithesh Dsouza, Secretary Ms. Wilma Lobo, Mr Kevin and Fr Santhosh were the other guests who visited the program.

The program came to an end with the most demanding baila. Ms Preemal Dsouza, Permannur Compered the program.
