Location :

Less known, economically backward St Lawrence Church, Bola, Thoudugoli was once part of the Panir parish, situated near Kerala - Karnataka border.

The beginning :

5 acres of government land was acquired with permission in 1979 by parish priest of Panir Fr Charles J. Aranha. A chapel was built with space for a cemetery by Fr Charles with the efforts of the people with their sacrifice of bread and butter.

The chapel was raised as a parish in 2006.

As the small, deteriorated chapel was worsening its condition with water leaking, non aeration, less space and weak ceiling problems, the faithful for the parish vibrant in faith, increasing in numbers were in constant dream of constructing a worship place. So the foundation stone for the new church building of St Lawrence Church was laid by Dr Aloysius Paul D’souza, Bishop of Mangalore on August 10, 2018 on the feast of the patron St Lawrence.

Parish priest Fr Michael D Souza CMF on this occasion explained the difficulties of the local people and their life situations and urged well wishers to support the cause of this church.

Priests who have served the parish :

  • Fr Michael D’Souza CMF (2016 - 2022)
  • Fr Frederick Correa CMF (from 2022 onwards)

(Complete list will be updated soon)
