Kirem, June 11 : 105 senior citizens of Our Lady of Remedies parish were vaccinated with Covishield on 11th June 2021.  The parish priest Fr Victor D'Mello being in the core committee , took vaccinating the parishioners as a mission.

Initially a survey was conducted to see how many have received vaccines. Then a survey to find out how many have taken it for free and how many for payment. It was found , nearly 360 have taken it for free and 75 for payment. Nearly 325 were ready to take vaccine making payment. Out of this, 105 were vaccinated today. Another group of 100 will be vaccinated next week. Those below 40 years are directed to take vaccines at Kateel and there are nearly 125 members.

Nearly 55 were given vaccines for free with the help of church medical fund.

Dr. Abdul Rahman, Director, Kanachur hospital and research centre ; Dr Rohan Monis, The chief administrative officer ; Dr. Chetana, The nodal officer; Dr. Zaheer, The specialist worked for this mission in collaboration with the church team headed by Fr. Victor D'Mello parish priest , Stephen D'cunha the vice president , Mr Maxim Pinto Secretary parish pastoral council , Mr. Santhan D'Souza the convenor of different committees, with a dedicated team from the church and Kanachur hospital worked for this successful mission.
