Bantwal, Sep 9 : The Feast of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary was celebrated with joy and devotion on 8th September 2023 at St Thomas, the Apostle Church, Nirkan. The ceremony began at 8 a.m. with the blessing of the new crops (paddy) at the school ground followed by the offering of flowers to Mother Mary. Later, a procession was held to the church in her honour.

Solemn mass was celebrated by Rev. Fr Naveen Pinto, the Judicial Vicar of Mangalore Diocese. Rev. Fr Leo Lobo, the Parish Priest, Rev. Fr Michael Lobo, Rev. Fr Herry D’Souza and Rev. Fr Anil Lobo concelebrated the mass.
