Bantwal, July 02 : Christ the King Church, Manela celebrated “Green Sunday” and an Oath- taking ceremony of the newly elected office bearers of ICYM 2019-20 on June 30, 2019.

The Celebrations began with Solemn Eucharistic Celebrations by Rev. Fr Paul Prakash D’ Souza, parish priest. Soon after the Homily presided over the ceremony of Oath- taking in which, Anitha Monteiro President, Hrithwik D’ Sa Vice- President, Nishmitha D’ Souza lady Vice- President, Shwetha D’ Souza Secretary, Akshith D’ Souza Joint Secretary, Anish Montheiro Treasurer, Avil Montheiro Amcho Yuvak Prathinidhi, Sachin D’ Souza Sports Secretary, Royden D’ Souza Cultural Secretary, Melvita Cutinho Auditor took their vows as council members of ICYM, Manela .

Soon after the mass Green Sunday programme an initiative of ICYM , Mandela was held under the guidance if the Parish Priest . The Parish Priest himself planted the sapling in the church premises and encouraged the parishioners to plant saplings, safeguard it and have care for our nature, thereafter a sapling was handed over to the parishioners. Later, around 200 saplings were planted in the church premises by the youth and children.

Parish pastoral council vice-president Ambrose Monteiro, Secretary Urban D’ Souza, Sr Cynthia , Superior of the convent and Bro Ronson Pinto were present.
