Mangaluru, Aug 31, 2025 : The Indian Catholic Youth Movement, Episcopal City Deanery, on the occasion of the 79th Independence Day of India, organized "Frames of Freedom", an online photo contest for the units of the Deanery. The theme of the contest was "Recreate a Historical Event Before India's Independence." The primary objective of this initiative was to educate, engage, and inspire the youth, while reliving the struggles and movements that paved the way for India's freedom.

Each participating unit selected and depicted a unique historical event, as follows:

Bejai Unit: Recreated the First Salute to the Indian Flag on the Eve of Independence
Kulur Unit: Recreated the Partition of Bengal
Ashoknagar Unit: Recreated the Swadeshi Movement
Valencia Unit: Recreated the Simon Go Back Movement
Jeppu Unit: Recreated the Hanging of Bhagat Singh, Rajguru, and Sukhdev
Cascia Unit: Recreated the Swadeshi Movement

The results of the photo contest were declared as follows:

First Prize: Ashoknagar Unit
Second Prize: Kulur Unit
Third Prize: Cascia Unit
