NIddodi - Mangaluru, Aug 27, 2025 : The Indian Catholic Youth Movement (ICYM) unit of Little Flower Church, Niddodi organized a Ward-wise Quiz Competition on August 17 at the Church Hall at 3pm. The event aimed to bring together parishioners of different wards and encourage a spirit of knowledge, healthy competition, and unity.
The program began with a prayer led by Francil Mascarenhas and Jenisha Tauro, invoking God’s blessings on the participants and the gathering. The welcome address was delivered by Lerron Pinto, who warmly welcomed all the ward representatives, parishioners, and dignitaries. The program was graced by the presence of Rev. Fr. Denis Suares (Parish Priest), ICYM Animator Mrs. Reshma Aranha, Brother Blany Fernandes, Mr.Lerron Pinto ICYM President, Mr.Cashwin Tauro President ICYM Manglore North Deanery, Miss Alvita Rebello ICYM Secretary and other guests seated on the dais.

The inaugural ceremony was held with a brief lighting of the lamp by Mr. Eric Jackson D’costa, symbolizing wisdom and enlightenment through knowledge.
The quiz was conducted by Mr. Eric Jackson D’costa, a highly experienced quiz master who has been faithfully conducting quiz competitions in the parish for the past three years. The quiz included a wide range of topics such as the Holy Bible, our country, freedom fighters, and current affairs, making it both informative and enjoyable.
A total of nine wards participated enthusiastically in the competition. Each team displayed excellent knowledge and competitive spirit, keeping the audience engaged and entertained. After several intense and exciting rounds, the results were as follows:
• First Prize: St. Peter Ward
• Second Prize (Tie): Our Lady of Remedies Ward and St. Joseph Ward
The gathering was addressed by Rev. Fr. Denis Suares, who appreciated the efforts of ICYM Niddodi for organizing such an enriching program and encouraged the youth to continue creating platforms that build knowledge, confidence, and unity among parishioners.
The vote of thanks was proposed by Vishal Lawrence Lobo, expressing gratitude to the parish priest, animator, quiz master, participants, and parishioners for their active involvement and support. The program was efficiently compered by Miss Carol D’souza.
