Ranipura - Mangaluru, Aug 27 : On Sunday, 17th August 2025, the ICYM unit of Our Lady, the Queen of the Universe Church Ranipura, celebrated 'Konkani Manyata Divas' with great joy and pride in the Church Hall. The programme began at 9:00 a.m. with breakfast served to all.

The event was presided over by Parish Priest Rev. Fr. Jayaprakash, along with Fr. Dr. Alwyn Serrao (Principal, Milagres College), honourees Mr. Alwyn Veigas and Mr. Ronald Crasta, Sr. Lavita Dias Convent Superior & Animator, Br. Loyd Dsouza and Mrs. Anisha Neetha Dsouza the animators, Parish Council President Mr. Arun and Secretary Mrs. Wilma, 21 Commissions’ Coordinator Mr. Nevil, and ICYM Ranipura President Ms. Jesmitha and Secretary Ms. Sandria Dsouza were present on the stage.

The programme began with a prayer led by ICYM members, followed by a welcome address by Mr. Lynal. The inauguration was uniquely done by breaking a pot, which revealed a handmade cloth banner carrying the words "Amchi Bhas Konkani". On this occasion, Mr. Alwyn Veigas and Mr. Ronald Crasta, both known for their dedicated service to Konkani, were honoured.

Fr. Jayaprakash stressed the importance of preserving Konkani and its traditions. The honourees then shared their heartfelt thoughts.
Vote of Thanks was then proposed by Mr. Prajwal Pereira. Following this, the Resource Person of the Day, Fr. Dr. Alwyn Serrao, enlightened the gathering with an inspiring talk on the history and richness of the Konkani language.

The cultural programme added colour to the celebration with Voviyo by Stree Sanghatan, Mando, Dekni and Baila by ICYM members, and a Konkani song by YCS members.
