Arva - Belthangady, Aug 27 : I.C.Y.M. Arva Unit, in collaboration with the parish Youth Commission, organized "YUVA MILAN – 2025", a Parish Youth Gathering for all the youth of the parish on August 17, 2025, at St. Peter Claver Church hall.

The program began with a short inaugural ceremony, anchored by Ms. Ashmitha D'Souza. Natasha Mascarenhas, President, I.C.Y.M. Arva and Ashwin Rodrigues, President, Secretary, I.C.Y.M. Arva escorted the dignitaries to the dais.

The dignitaries on the dais included: Rev. Fr. Elias D'Souza – Parish Priest and President of the program; Mr. Nihan Sequeira – Karnataka Regional Representative (from Dec 2025) & I.C.Y.M. Belthangady Deanery Representative; Mr. Leo Pereira – Vice President, Parish Pastoral Council; Mr. Lawrence Pais – Secretary, Parish Pastoral Council; Mrs. Jyothi Monteiro – Coordinator of All Commissions; Mr. Sushanth Samson Fernandes – Secretary, Youth Commission; Supreeth Hyanson Fernandes - Treasurer, I.C.Y.M. Mangalore Diocese; Mr. Jaison Stephen Rodrigues – President, I.C.Y.M. Belthangady Deanery; Mr. Anson Brinod Fernandes – Red Drop Representative, I.C.Y.M. Belthangady Deanery; Mrs. Ashmitha Priya D'Souza – Animator, I.C.Y.M. Arva.

Natasha Mascarenhas welcomed the guests and the gathering. The inauguration was marked by pulling a ribbon and unveiling the beautifully crafted Yuva Milan plaque. Mr. Nihan Sequeira in his address encouraged the youth to make the most of the program and emphasized the importance of progressing uniquely without comparisons. Rev. Fr. Elias D'Souza also motivated the youth with his inspiring words. The inaugural concluded with a vote of thanks by Ashwin Rodrigues.

Following the inaugural ceremony, registration was held at 10:00 AM, after which breakfast was served.

Ms. Ashwitha Rodrigues then introduced the resource person, Mr. Peter Anthony Pinto, Founder & Director of AFA (M) Pvt. Ltd. He delivered an insightful session on "Grooming in Soft Skills", covering communication, workplace etiquette, teamwork, problem-solving, critical thinking, adaptability, time management, leadership, creativity, and emotional intelligence.

Post talk, Mr. Kevin Lobo, Vice- President, I.C.Y.M. Arva introduced the activity maestro Mr. Elvin Prashanth D'Cunha, who, along with the ICYM committee, conducted fun-filled games and led the group in action songs. Prizes were distributed to the winners by Ms. Ashmitha Priya D'Souza.

Members of ICYM Belthangady Deanery — Ms. Dishal Pinto (Lady Vice-President), Mr. Arvin Goveas (Joint Secretary), and Mr. Alston Pinto (Sports Secretary) — also graced the event. Mr. Stephen Rodrigues compered the informal program.

Nearly 50 enthusiastic youth participated in the event, which concluded with a lively Baila dance, leaving the participants with cherished memories of fellowship and joy.
