Madanthyar, Aug 25 : The Indian Catholic Youth Movement (ICYM) Madanthyar Unit successfully organized a Blood Donation Camp on 15th August 2025 with the noble aim of promoting voluntary blood donation and saving lives. The camp was held at Sacred Heart College Auditorium, Madanthyar from 9.30 A.M. to 1.00 P.M. and witnessed enthusiastic participation from youth and the general public alike.

The program commenced with a brief inaugural ceremony. Mr. Maxim Albuquerque, President of Rotary Club Madanthyar, welcomed the gathering, followed by a prayer led by the ICYM members. The event was inaugurated by the Parish Priest and the presidents of certain organisations, who appreciated the initiative taken by the youth and emphasized the importance of donating blood as a service to humanity.

The blood collection was managed by a professional medical team from Indian Red Cross Society Dakshina Kannada , ensuring all safety and hygiene protocols were strictly followed. Prior to donating, each donor underwent a basic health screening to ensure they met the eligibility criteria.

A total of 75 units of blood were collected during the camp, reflecting the strong spirit of community service among the participants. Donors were provided with refreshments and a certificate of appreciation for their valuable contribution.

The event concluded on a positive note, with a vote of thanks delivered by Elroy Rodrigues Red Drop Coordinator of ICYM Madanthyar Unit. The success of the camp was made possible through the collective efforts of ICYM members, volunteers, and the support of the parish and local community.

Such initiatives not only help save lives but also motivate the youth to actively serve the community. ICYM Madanthyar aims to continue hosting similar events to promote social welfare.
