Puttur, Aug 25, 2025 : Mai De Deus Church, Puttur in collaboration with ICYM, Pastoral commission for health and Association for women, organised Free Eye check-up camp on 10th August, at Mai De Deus church hall.

The programme commenced with a prayer led by the ICYM members, setting a solemn and respectful tone for the event. The inauguration ceremony was carried out by the President of the programme, Very Rev Fr Lawrence Mascarenhas, along with other dignitaries present on the dais. Later, V. Rev. Fr. Lawrence Mascarenhas made his presidential address and shared insightful remarks, highlighting the importance of community health and service.

Dr. Jayaram from Prasad Nethralaya, Rev.Fr. Marwin Lobo Asst. Parish priest, Mr.Jerald Dcosta vice president of parish pastoral council , Mrs Evelyn Dsouza Secretary of parish pastoral council, Mr John Dsouza coordinator of 20 pastoral commissions, Mr Sushanth Veigas president of ICYM, Mr Paul Herald Mascarenhas president and Mrs Jacinta Pereira secretary of health committee were present on the dais.

Mrs Jacinta Pereira extended a warm welcome to all attendees, while Miss Disha Mascarenhas delivered the vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to all contributors and participants. The programme was smoothly compered by Dr Dimple Fernands.

The Free Eye check-up camp was a resounding success, with over 150 participants benefiting from the free medical check-ups. The event concluded at 2:00 pm, leaving a lasting impact on the community.
