Moodbidri , Aug 24 : The Moodbidri Deanery Youth Convention (MDYC) 2025 was held on 17th August 2025 at Hospet Church Hall, commencing sharply at 10:00 AM. The event brought together youth representatives, dignitaries, and leaders from across the deanery and diocese.

Stage Program

The stage program began with a welcome speech by the Deanery President Mr. Prinson Pinto, warmly welcoming all dignitaries and participants.

Felicitation Ceremony

The past Deanery Council (2024–25) was felicitated for their dedicated service to the deanery.

Additionally, deanery representatives who served at the diocesan level were honored:
• Mr. Winston Sequeira – President, ICYM Mangalore Diocese (2024–25)
• Mr. Mithesh Dsouza – Immediate Past President, ICYM Mangalore Diocese (2024–25)
• Mr. Joyston Dsouza – Joint Secretary, ICYM Mangalore Diocese (2024–25)
• Ms. Reena Anjali- Treasurer and ICYM St Matthew deanery representative (2024-25)

The Deanery Executive committee along with guest inaugurated the INDIAN CATHOLIC YOUTH CONVENTION ST MATTHEW DEANERY 40th year logo, celebrating the 40 years of excellence, grace and unity.

Stage program concluded with the vote of thanks by Mr. Rolston Fleming Dsouza, President – ICYM Hospet Unit.

Mr. Vijoy Ashwin Cardoza, President of ICYM Mangalore Diocese, addressed the youth and encouraged them to be active, responsible, and faith-filled members of ICYM, inspiring everyone with his motivational words.

ICYM Vamadapadav unit brought the KRYC cross to the MDYC program.
All the youths in MDYC program faithfully took part in the prayer ceremony of the cross.

Resource Sessions

Two engaging resource sessions were conducted:
1. Mr. Robin Joseph Sera – Spoke on investment and financial advice, enlightening the youth on the importance of financial planning.
2. Mr. Jovel Naravi – Shared his inspiring ICYM journey and engaged the participants through interactive fun games, making the session lively and memorable.

Conclusion

The program concluded with a Vote of Thanks delivered by Ms. Joylin Cordero, Secretary – ICYM St. Matthew Deanery, expressing gratitude to all dignitaries, guests, and participants.

The event was a grand success, filled with fellowship, motivation, and enthusiasm, marking another milestone in the journey of ICYM St. Matthew Deanery, Moodbidri.
