Mangaluru, Aug 23 : On Sunday, 3rd August 2025, ICYM unit of St. Teresa of Kolkata Church, Paldane held a meeting at 10:30 AM, attended by 25 members. Unit President Vileesha welcomed everyone and discussed the upcoming events and plans.
Rev. Fr. Richard Aloysius Coelho – Director and Mr. Roshan Monteiro – Animator were also present for the meeting, offering their support and encouragement.
The Core Committee of St. Peter’s City Deanery — including President Rayan Marshal Noronha, Secretary Rayan Lobo, Vice President Rishanth Fernandes, Treasurer Rupesh D’Souza and Arwin Dmello — visited the unit. Rayan, a proud member of Paldane Parish, was recently elected as the Deanery President.

During the session, Rayan introduced two major Deanery-level initiatives. The first, titled “Roots of Unity,” consists of:
Roots of Care – promoting environmental responsibility by encouraging each unit to plant and nurture a sapling.
Bye Bye Plastic – encouraging the use of reusable bags and reducing plastic waste.
As part of this initiative, the Deanery Core Committee gifted ICYM Paldane a guava sapling and a reusable plastic bag, encouraging the unit to actively participate in both campaigns.
The second initiative, “St. Peter’s Pinnacle Award 2025–26,” is a points-based competition that appreciates the creative, devotional, and impactful events organized by each unit across the Deanery. Units will be evaluated based on their activities throughout the year, with the highest-scoring unit receiving recognition at the final Deanery event.
After the meeting, the guava sapling was planted in the church premises. Fr. Richard Coelho, Mr. Roshan Monteiro, and Mr. Elias Fernandes (Vice President, Parish Pastoral Council) were present and joined in the planting.
The visit inspired the youth to be more active, united, and committed in their service.
