Moodbidri , Aug 12 : The Indian Catholic Youth Movement (ICYM) Anegudde Unit, in collaboration with ICYM Moodbidri Deanery, successfully organized the Vanamahotsav celebration on Sunday, 3rd August 2025, immediately after the morning mass. The event aimed to create awareness about environmental conservation and encourage the plantation of trees for a greener and healthier future.
The program commenced at 10:00 a.m. in the presence of ICYM Anegudde youth members, ICYM Moodbidri Deanery Executive Members, ICYM Anegudde Animator Mr. Norbert Pereira, the Parish Vice President, Parish Secretary, and parishioners.

The gathering began with a warm welcome address delivered by Ms. Melisha Dsouza, the Immediate Past President (IPP) and Treasurer of ICYM Anegudde. She greeted all the dignitaries, guests, and participants and set the tone for the day's program.
Following this, Mr. Paul Dsouza, Director, addressed the gathering with an inspiring speech on the importance of Vanamahotsav and the urgent need to protect and preserve nature. He emphasized how small steps like planting trees can make a significant difference in combating environmental issues and building a sustainable future.
The highlight of the day was the Vanamahotsav activity, where saplings were planted in the church compound. All present took active participation in planting the saplings, symbolizing the commitment towards protecting the environment and leaving behind a green legacy for the coming generations.
The program concluded with a heartfelt Vote of Thanks delivered by Ms. Joylin Cordero, Deanery Secretary, who expressed gratitude to all the dignitaries, participants, and parishioners for their presence and contribution in making the event a success.
