Mangaluru, Aug 7, 2025 – The Indian Catholic Youth Movement (ICYM) Bejai Unit successfully organized Monsoon Splash 2025 on Sunday, 3rd August, at the Lourdes Central School Ground, creating a vibrant atmosphere of joy, teamwork, and community spirit. The event began at 1:30 p.m. and featured enthusiastic participation from 16 wards of Bejai Parish.

The programme was symbolically inaugurated in the presence of esteemed guests: Rev. Fr. J. B. Saldanha, Parish Priest of Bejai Parish; Rev. Fr. Norman Mathias, Assistant Parish Priest of Bejai Parish; Rev. Fr. Johnson Sequeira, Principal of Lourdes Central School, Bejai; Rev. Fr. Leston Lobo, Director of Loyola Pre-Novitiate House; Mr. Ashok Pinto, Vice President of the Parish Pastoral Council, Bejai; Mrs. Avitha Pinto, Secretary of the Parish Pastoral Council; and Mr. Godwin Pinto, Convener of the 21 Commissions. The gathering was warmly welcomed by Ms. Wilma Martis, President of ICYM Bejai Unit, and the Inaugural Vote of Thanks was delivered by Mr. Lawrence Mathias, Secretary.

A variety of monsoon-themed games were conducted by Mr. Alwyn D’Souza, the main resource person for the day, who kept the energy high and participants thoroughly engaged. The event was further uplifted by the presence of the ICYM Episcopal City Deanery (ECD) Executive Committee and ICYM Central Council Members, whose support added motivation and joy to the celebration.

The day concluded with a prize distribution ceremony, Mr Shane Cutinha, Sports Secretary of ICYM Bejai Unit Proposed the Valedictory Vote of Thanks recognizing the efforts and sportsmanship of participants and expressing gratitude to all the sponsors who helped make the event a success.

Ms. Simone D’Souza, ICYM Member - served as the Master of Ceremony, ensuring smooth flow and cheerful engagement throughout the event.

Monsoon Splash 2025 stands as a testament to ICYM Bejai’s ongoing commitment to fostering youth engagement, parish unity, and community building through creative and spirited initiatives.
