Siddakatte - Bantwal , Aug 7 — The youth of St. Patrick’s Church, Siddakatte gathered for an exciting one-day youth convention titled Yuva Zenith, held at the St. Patrick School Hall on 3rd August 2025. The event started at 9:30 a.m. with registration and breakfast, bringing together young minds for a day filled with inspiration, interaction, and fun.

The event was hosted by Ms.Lerina Dsouza, Amcho Yuvak representative from the ICYM Siddakatte unit, who led the program with enthusiasm and charm. The dignitaries were escorted to the stage by ICYM Siddakatte Unit President Royal Dsouza and Secretary Viona Moras.

The inaugural function was presided over by Mr. Gerald Dcosta and attended by several respected guests including Sr. Reshma, Superior of Shanthi Rani Convent; Mr. Praveen Crasta, ICYM Animator and 21 Commission Convener; Mrs. Linet Dcosta, Unity Commission Convener; Mr. Jeethan Dcosta, Treasurer of ICYM Moodabidri Deanery; and Mr. Vijoy Cardoza, President of ICYM Mangalore Diocese.

The program began with a beautiful prayer song sung by the youth members. Royal Dsouza, President of the ICYM Siddakatte unit, gave a warm welcome speech. The dignitaries then officially inaugurated Yuva Zenith.

In his presidential address, Mr. Gerald Dcosta shared his experience with ICYM and encouraged the youth to aim high and believe in their potential. During the ceremony, Mr. Jeethan Dcosta and Mr. Lenvin Sequeira were felicitated for being elected as treasurers of ICYM and YCS Moodabidri Deanery.

Mr. Vijoy Cardoza spoke about the importance of ICYM in shaping the confidence and leadership skills of young people. The inaugural function ended with a vote of thanks from Viona Moras, who appreciated everyone’s presence and contribution.

After a short break, the first session began. Ms. Princia Moras introduced the resource person Ms. Veena Vas, who gave an insightful talk on Time Management, stressing the need to set priorities and deadlines in daily life.

The second session was led by Mr. Winston Sequeira, introduced by Mr. Leston Coelho. He spoke about Confidence Building and shared his personal journey with ICYM. He also shared a beautiful story about a Chinese bamboo tree and encouraged the youth not to give up on themselves.

In the afternoon, Fr. Daniel Dsouza, Parish Priest of Siddakatte; Sr. Cynthia, YCS Animator; and Sr. Winnie, Superior of Balchrist Convent, joined the gathering. They were welcomed with flowers by Royal and Viona.

The post-lunch session was filled with action songs and fun activities, led by the ICYM Siddakatte unit. Joining them were members from the ICYM Moodabidri Deanery including President Prinson Pinto, Secretary Joyline Cordero, Red Drop Representative Jyothsna Rodrigues, Social Cause Secretary Glenita Menezes, Cultural Secretary Steffi Miranda, and Sports Secretary Kiran Pereira. They conducted fun and engaging action songs that energized the crowd.

Also present were representatives from the ICYM Saverapura Unit: President Dolwin Dsouza, Secretary Adline Crasta, and Treasurer Pradeep Dsouza, who took part actively and joined in the engaging action songs.

Former members of the ICYM Siddakatte unit, Mr. Rainal Goveas and Mr. Rakesh Rego, returned to conduct fun games and activities for the youth. These were followed by a quiz and several other group games arranged by the ICYM Siddakatte team.

As the event came to a close, Mr. Sunil Sequeira, Vice President of the Parish Pastoral Council, congratulated all the participants and organizers for a successful and well-executed program.

Finally, Viona Moras delivered the concluding vote of thanks, expressing her heartfelt gratitude to everyone who contributed to making Yuva Zenith 2025 a joyful, meaningful, and memorable event for all.
