Permude, Aug 3, 2025 : The “Yuva Josh” program, organized by ICYM unit of St John the Baptist Church Permude, under the guidance of Rev. Fr. Ronald Pinto, Parish Priest and ICYM Director, was held after the 7:30 AM Mass at Permude Church on July 27. The event gathered enthusiastic youth for a day filled with faith, learning, leadership, and fellowship.

The day began with a prayer service, followed by a warm welcome from Mr. Lionel Fernandes, President of ICYM Permude. Dignitaries were welcomed with a rose by ICYM members. The traditional lamp-lighting ceremony marked the formal inauguration. The event was presided over by Rev. Fr. Ronald Pinto and graced by the presence of Chief Guest Rev. Fr. Rupesh Madtha, along with Mr. Henry D’Cunha, Vice President of the Parish Pastoral Council; Mr. Dolphy Pinto, Secretary of the Parish Pastoral Council; Mr. Vijay Ashwin Cardoza, President of ICYM Mangalore Diocese; Mr. Vinod Pinto, Coordinator of all Parish Commissions; and ICYM Permude Unit Animators Mr. Roshan Rodrigues and Mrs. Vineetha Tauro.

Also in attendance were Rev. Fr. Jesudas D’Costa, Director of ICYM Pezar Deanery, and Ms. Sonali Noronha, President of ICYM Pezar Deanery, along with other representatives from the deanery, who added to the joy and unity of the occasion.In their addresses, Fr. Rupesh encouraged the youth with the message “Go with Jesus, Grow with Jesus, and Glow with Jesus,” while Fr. Ronald reminded them to stay rooted in faith. Mr. Vijay Cardoza spoke about ICYM as a platform for leadership and growth.

Ms. Zeena introduced the resource persons: Mr. Jaison Crasta, who spoke on “The Role of Youth in the Parish”, and Mrs. Vishma D’Cunha, who guided participants on “Future Goals and How to Achieve Them.” They also led team-building games that created an atmosphere of fun and teamwork.

Participants were grouped into Red, Yellow, Orange, and Green teams. The Orange Team won first place, followed by Yellow, while Red and Green tied for third. All teams showed excellent spirit and cooperation.

Mr. Prian D’Souza compered the event, and Ms. Theresa, Secretary of ICYM Permude, proposed the vote of thanks. The program ended with blessings on the food, followed by a fellowship meal. ICYM members and parishioners prepared the food on Saturday evening, reflecting strong community spirit and teamwork.

“Yuva Josh” proved to be an inspiring and joyful experience, leaving participants with lasting memories of unity, faith, and youthful energy.
