Gurpur - Kaikamba, Aug 3, 2025 : The PYC-ICYM unit of Our Lady of Pompei Church, Gurpur - Kaikamba successfully organized Yuva Sparsh 2025 event on 20th July. The celebration began with a solemn Holy Mass at 7:30 AM, celebrated by Rev. Fr. Jesudas D'costha, ICYM Pezar Deanery Director, along with the Gurpur Parish Priest, Rev. Fr. Rudolf Ravi D'sa.

Following the Mass, the formal program was held at the Centenary Hall. The event commenced with a soulful prayer song led by Jia Menezes, setting a reverent tone for the day.

The dignitaries on the dais included Rev. Fr. Rudolf Ravi D'Sa (Gurpur Parish Priest and PYC -ICYM Director ), Chief Guest and Resource Person Mrs. Irene Rebello, Rev. Fr. Jesudas D'costha (ICYM Pezar Deanery Director), Mr. Romans Lobo (Vice President of the Parish Pastoral Council), Mrs. Hilda Menezes (Coordinator of the 21 Commissions), Mr. Godwin Tauro (Animator of ICYM – PYC Gurpur Unit), Ms. Venisha Saldhana (President), and Ms. Viola Moras (Secretary).

Venisha Saldanha, President of ICYM – PYC Gurpur Unit, warmly welcomed the gathering. The event was inaugurated by the dignitaries through the symbolic gesture of switching on the display, unveiling the title "Yuva Sparsh."

Inspirational addresses were delivered by Mrs. Irene Rebello, Rev. Fr. Jesudas D'costha, and Rev. Fr. Rudolf Ravi D'sa. On the occasion of Yuva Sparsh, an Inter-Ward Reel Competition was also organized. Gurpur Ward emerged as the winner, while Pompei B secured the runner-up position.

After the vote of thanks by Secretary Viola Moras, the formal inauguration concluded, and the first session commenced.

The first session, on the theme Building Family, was conducted by Mrs. Irene Rebello. It was an enriching and interactive session that focused on nurturing relationships, fostering independence, expressing affection, and identifying the effects of toxic relationships.

Special guests in attendance included Mr. Vijoy Cardoza (President, ICYM Mangalore Diocese), Ms. Suzannha Ferrao (PRO, ICYM Mangalore Diocese), Ms. Sonali Noronha (President, ICYM Pezar Deanery), Mr. Macline Fernandes (Vice President, ICYM Pezar Deanery), and Ms. Lisha Pereira (Social Cause Secretary, ICYM Pezar Deanery), Sr. Jaya( Superior, Pompei Convent)

The second session was conducted by Mr. Joel Lancy Crasta on the topic Government Jobs. His session was both informative and practical, offering insights into securing government employment and strategies for wise financial investments.

After a delicious lunch, the participants were divided into six color-coded groups: White, Pink, Brown, Blue, Yellow, and Green. The group activities that followed were lively and engaging, allowing everyone to participate enthusiastically and enjoy to the fullest which was conducted by Mr.Joel Lancy Crasta.

The day concluded with a prize distribution ceremony followed by the singing of the ICYM Anthem. The Master of inauguration program was Josline Moras. A total of 65 youth from the parish were present for the program.
