Alangar - Moodbidri, July 24 : The much-awaited youth gathering "Yuvabaandh 2025" was successfully held on 20th July 2025 at Holy Rosary church, Alangar organised by ICYM Alangar Unit.

The program began at 9:30 a.m. with a solemn prayer service led by Nishan Tauro and Jason Correa, invoking God's blessings on the day's proceedings. The event was graciously compered by Ms. Jaklin Cutina, who steered the program with grace and clarity.

The dignitaries present on the dais included:
• Rev. Fr. Melvin Noronha – Parish Priest and Director of ICYM Alangar Unit
• Mr. Ashwith D'Souza – President, ICYM Alangar Unit
• Mr. Edward Serrao – Secretary, Holy Rosary Church
• Sr. Jacinta Pinto – YCS Alangar Animator
• Mr. Ivan Pinto – ICYM Alangar Animator
• Mr. Rajesh Kadalakere – 21 Committee President

Rev. Fr. Melvin Noronha officially inaugurated the event, marking the commencement of a day filled with learning, bonding, and enthusiasm. This was followed by motivational addresses by Mr. Rajesh Kadalakere, Fr. Melvin Noronha, and Mr. Edward Serrao, who shared valuable insights on youth involvement and leadership in the Church and society.

As a gesture of warmth and creativity, all dignitaries and participants were welcomed with handcrafted flowers prepared by the ICYM Unit members, symbolising love and unity.

Following the stage program, the youth of the parish actively engaged in games and action songs organised by the ICYM Alangar Unit Committee. The morning session was filled with laughter, team spirit, and enthusiastic participation, making it a memorable experience for all.

A thought-provoking session titled "Where Are Our Youths?" was conducted by Fr. Richard, who shared his insights on the current challenges faced by the younger generation. His interactive talk inspired the youth to reflect on their purpose and role in the community.

After a lunch break at 2:00 p.m., the afternoon session resumed with Mrs. Veena Vas leading various fun-filled games and energisers, keeping the participants spirits high.

The event was graced by a visit from the ICYM Moodbidri Deanery Council, led by Mr. Prinson Pinto, Deanery President. They conducted an interactive session with action songs, bringing additional energy and joy to the program before proceeding to visit other parishes.

The highlight of the day was the visit by Mr. Vijoy Cardoza, President of ICYM Mangalore Diocese, who addressed the youth and shared valuable insights, encouraging them to grow as responsible and faith-filled individuals.

Yuvabaandh 2025 came to a graceful conclusion by 5:00 p.m., with heartfelt gratitude and joy shared among all participants. A special thanks to the sponsor Mr. P.K. Thomas and to Mr. Alwyn Rodrigues and Mrs. Benedicta Rodrigues for preparing the delicious meal for the program.

The day witnessed maximum participation, unity, and enthusiasm from the Alangar parish youth, making it a truly impactful and memorable event.
