Permude - Mangaluru, July 16 : A paddy plantation activity titled 'Krishi - Khushi' was held on 13th of July 2025 at the Paddayibettu paddy fields in Permude. The event was jointly organized by the ICYM Permude Unit, Catholic Sabha, and the Franciscan Third Order Permude Unit.

The event was presided over by Rev. Fr. Ronald Pinto, Director of ICYM Permude Unit. Also present were Mr. Henry D’Cunha, Vice President of the Parish Pastoral Council, and Mr. Dolphy Pinto, Secretary of the Parish Pastoral Council, along with representatives of all three organizing units.

The programme started at 10:00 AM with a prayer, seeking God’s blessings. Mr. Roshan Rodrigues anchored the stage programme, ensuring a smooth and engaging flow of events.

Mr. Kishor Dsouza, who generously provided the paddy saplings for the plantation, was honoured during the programme in appreciation of his valuable contribution. He then handed over the saplings to the Presidents of ICYM, Catholic Sabha, and the Franciscan Third Order, along with Mr. Henry D’Cunha, symbolically marking the beginning of the plantation.

Following this, youths and all the participants actively took part in the paddy planting at the Paddayibettu paddy fields.

Before the conclusion, Rev. Fr. Ronald Pinto expressed heartfelt appreciation to all who contributed their effort and dedication toward the success of the programme.

Afterwards, a blessing was offered on the food, and everyone came together to share a meal in joy and fellowship.

The programme served as a strong inspiration for sustainable agriculture, highlighting the value of traditional farming methods, and played a vital role in encouraging youth to take active interest and pride in farming.
