Mangaluru, July 15, 2025 : "Be the Spark" : Youth Animator Training was organized by the Diocese of Mangalore on July 13 at Milagres Degree College Auditorium. The programme began at 9:30 AM with a prayer invoking the Holy Spirit.
Msgr. Maxim Noronha, the President of the program, addressed the animators and emphasized their significant role in shaping the youth for the betterment of the Church and society.
Rev. Dr. Michael Santhumayor shared his valuable experiences of working closely with young people and reminded the gathering of the crucial responsibility of motivating and guiding them.

Fr. Ashwin Cardoza, Director of ICYM, conducted a workshop focusing on the differences between generations, equipping animators with tools to effectively engage with today's youth. He also explained how such programs can be conducted at various levels and elaborated on the criteria for St Gonsalo Garcia award and recognitions.
In the afternoon session, Rev. Fr. Charles Menezes, former IYCS Chaplain, addressed the participants. He highlighted the importance of journeying with young people, guiding them, and playing an active role in their faith and social formation.
The training included interactive activities, workshops, and group discussions, making it a vibrant and engaging experience for the participants.
Around 50 animators actively participated in the program, making it a fruitful and enriching day of learning and sharing.
