Mangaluru, July 5 : The ICYM unit of St. Teresa of Kolkata Church, Paldane organized a heartfelt farewell for the retiring parish priest, Rev. Fr. Alban Dsouza, held at his residence on 31st May 2025.

ICYM President Ms. Vileesha Braggs welcomed everyone and invited Animator Mr. Roshan Monteiro to share a speech about the priest’s contributions. Fr. Alban Dsouza then shared his inspiring journey and memories from his years of service, leaving a deep impact on all.

As tokens of gratitude, Mr. Roshan Monteiro honored the priest with a shawl and gift hamper, while President Ms. Vileesha Braggs, Secretary Ms. Aashel Lobo and IPP Mr. Wilson Pinto presented a photo frame on behalf of the unit.

The ceremony also included the official handover of posts to the new ICYM core committee (2025–26), with the priest presenting badges to the members.

A cheerful cake-cutting followed to celebrate the May birthdays of Mr. Roshan Monteiro (Animator), Wilson Pinto (IPP), and Brandan Pereira (Red Drop Representative). The event concluded with a group photo session, marking a joyful and emotional farewell.

On 22nd June 2025, the official ICYM meeting for the year 2025–2026 was held. The meeting included the warm welcoming of the new parish priest and ICYM Director, Rev. Fr. Richard Aloysius Coelho, who was present throughout the session.

The members discussed their yearly agendas and upcoming plans. A formal handover of books and files was carried out between the outgoing and newly elected President and Secretary, marking the smooth transition of responsibilities.

Fr. Coelho appreciated the efforts of the youth and assured them of his full support. He also shared a few encouraging words and motivated the members to remain active and united.

The meeting ended with the ICYM anthem and a group photo, marking the beginning of a new chapter.
