Mangaluru, June 23 : The Indian Catholic Youth Movement (ICYM) of the Diocese of Mangalore held its annual get-together and final Central Council meeting on June 21, 2025, at Olivet House, Jeppu, Mangalore. The event was filled with meaningful activities and reflected a strong sense of community among the youth leaders.

The day began with a team effort to clean and beautify both the interior and exterior of Olivet House. This initiative fostered a sense of responsibility and set the tone for a day focused on service and unity.

In the evening, at 7 PM, a Thanksgiving Mass was celebrated by Rev. Fr. Leo Lasrado, Secretary of the Catholic Board of Education (CBE), along with Rev. Fr. Ashwin Lohith Cardoza, Director of ICYM Mangalore Diocese. During the Mass, Fr. Leo Lasrado commended the youth for their dedicated service to ICYM over the past year and encouraged them to continue making a positive impact in their communities. He also blessed the building, adding to the spirit of gratitude and solemnity.

Following the Mass, the ICYM Director and DEXCO members honored Fr. Leo Lasrado as a token of appreciation. The DEXCO and Central Council members then shared reflections on the year gone by, discussing the challenges faced and the accomplishments achieved.

A delicious meal, prepared by the youth themselves, showcased their culinary talents and teamwork. The food was thoroughly enjoyed by all, adding warmth and joy to the evening.

Fr. Ashwin Lohith Cardoza (Director), Winston Joel Sequeira (President), and Ashlin Avita D'Souza (Secretary) of ICYM Mangalore Diocese expressed heartfelt gratitude to all youth leaders for their unwavering commitment throughout the year. They also extended their best wishes for continued success and growth in the future.
