Nirkan - Bantwal, May 5 : Nirkan Church celebrated Community Day with devotion and unity on Saturday, 3 May 2025. The day began with a solemn Holy Mass at 10:00 a.m., with Most Rev. Dr. Joachim Walder serving as the main celebrant.

The Eucharistic celebration was concelebrated by Parish Priest Rev. Fr. Leo William Lobo, along with Rev. Fr. Naveen Pinto (Judicial Vicar, Mangalore Diocese), Rev. Fr. Michael Lobo, Rev. Fr. Roshan D'Sa, Rev. Fr. Melwin Lasrado, and Rev. Fr. Justin. During the homily, Rev. Fr. Naveen Pinto spoke meaningfully about the importance of building strong bonds within the parish community, highlighting the role of faith and service in nurturing unity.

After the Mass, a formal stage program was held at St. Thomas Church Hall, Nirkan. The program was inaugurated by Most Rev. Dr. Joachim Walder, who addressed the gathering with words of encouragement and appreciation for the parish’s vibrant spirit.

On this occasion, Fr. Naveen Pinto (Judicial Vicar, Mangalore Diocese); Rev Fr Michael Lobo; Rev Fr Roshan D’sa; Rev Fr Justin; Rev Fr Leo Lobo, parish priest; Sr Celin Vas, Superior - Holy Family Convent; Vincent Bennis - Vice President, PPC; Shanthi Veigas - Secretary, PPC; Vinutha Crasta, Coordinator of Small Christian Community were present.

The event continued with cultural performances by parishioners, showcasing their talents through music, dance, and drama.

The celebration concluded with a community lunch, offering an opportunity for fellowship and shared joy among all attendees.
