Bajpe, May 3, 2025 : The ICYM Bajpe Unit celebrated their Annual Day on April 20th, Easter Sunday evening, from 5:30 PM onwards at St. Joseph’s Church Grounds, Bajpe.

The dignitaries present on the dais were Rev. Dr. Ronald Cutinha, Director of ICYM Bajpe Unit; Rev. Fr. Vivian Nishanth Rodrigues, Assistant Director of ICYM Bajpe Unit; Rev. Fr. Anil Roshan Lobo, Chaplain of St. John Paul II Shrine; Mr. Stany Dsouza, Vice-President of the Parish Pastoral Council; Mrs. Gracy Sequeira, Secretary of the Parish Pastoral Council; Ms. Frenita Tauro, Animator of ICYM Bajpe Unit; Ms. Josvita Dsouza, President of ICYM Pezar Deanery; Ms. Melria Saldanha, President of ICYM Bajpe Unit; and Ms. Carol Lobo, Secretary of ICYM Bajpe Unit.

The formal program began with a prayer song led by members of ICYM and YCS, seeking the blessings of the Almighty. Ms. Melria Saldanha, President of ICYM Bajpe, warmly welcomed the gathering. This was followed by the lighting of the lamp by the dignitaries, officially inaugurating the celebration.

Ms. Carol Lobo, Secretary of ICYM Bajpe, presented the ICYM Annual Report for 2024–25, highlighting the activities carried out by the unit throughout the year. Prizes for Nesna-Sobhan 2025, an online fancy dress competition, were distributed. Winners of the Lau Dato Si sapling-planting competition were also felicitated.

Throughout the year, wards were awarded points based on participation and achievements in various events and competitions, organized by us. Nithyadar Ward, having secured the highest points, emerged as the Champions for the year 2024–25, while St. Paul Ward was declared the runner-up.

Rev. Dr. Ronald Cutinha delivered the presidential address. A token of appreciation was given to the sponsors in recognition of their support and generosity.

The formal program concluded with the vote of thanks, delivered by Ms. Carol Lobo, the Secretary of ICYM Bajpe Unit.

The cultural program began with an energetic dance performance by ICYM members. This was followed by lively dance performances by members of YCS. Consolation prizes were distributed to all participants of Nesna-Sobhan 2025. Mr. Raoul Noronha compered the event.

Following the cultural program, a Konkani comedy drama titled ‘Alice Baayen Vodn Dharlam’, scripted by Mr. Clarence Pinto Padil, was brilliantly performed by artists from ICYM and the parish.

A large number of parishioners had gathered to enjoy the event and expressed their happiness in seeing the youth showcase their acting talents. The drama was well appreciated by the audience.
