Shivamogga, Feb 16 : Bishop of the Diocese of Shimoga and clergy organized a Day of the Consecrated at Chaitanya, Shivamogga on February 15, 2021.

Program began with Prayer at 9:45am led by Fr Francis Fernandes, Fr Stany D'souza, Fr Alwyn Stanislaus and Fr Franklin D'Souza. At 10am Monsignor Felix Noronha welcomed the resource person of the day Fr Wilfred Rodrigues OCD. He enlightened the gathering with Papal Encyclical "Fratelli Tutti".

At 11:15am His Excellency Francis Serrao Sj, Bishop of the Diocese of Shimoga celebrated Holy Eucharist and thanked God for the services of religious in the Diocese. Fr Wilfred preached a meaningful homily through which he enlightened the gathering the purpose and mission of Priests and religious in the vineyard of the Lord.

At 12:30pm Fr Roman Pinto led the housie housie game. Then Jubilarians were felicitated by the Bishop and Vicar General. Diocesan Procurator Fr Ronald D'Cunha read out the information about Jubilarians.

In his message Bishop Francis appreciated the services rendered by the religious in the Diocese of Shimoga.

On behalf of the religious Fr Arokiaswamy SDB thanked the Bishop and clergy of the Diocese.

It is customary that in the Diocese of Shimoga, Religious celebrate Diocesan clergy day on August 4th and Diocesan clergy celebrate Day of the consecrated every year. This strengthens the fraternity among the both. Program concluded with a fraternal dinner.
