Gopala - Shivamogga, July 30 : On July 27 2025, Good Shepherd Church, Gopala in the diocese of Shimoga, with the parish's ICYM unit, organized a heartfelt celebration of Elders' Day to honor and appreciate the senior members of the parish community. The program was a beautiful expression of gratitude, respect, and love for the wisdom and life experiences of our elders.

The celebration began at 10:30 am. with a prayer song led by youth members, marked by soulful hymns and moments of reflection, creating a deeply spiritual atmosphere. It was a time of acknowledging the invaluable role elders play in the life of the Church and society.

The Program was Chaired by: Rev. Fr Stephen Maxi Albuquerque, (Parish Priest).
Dr B Preetham. MBBS FDRC. Diabetes reversal expert Shivamogga was the Chief Guest and Resource Person.
Mr. Vijay Anto Sagai (Secretary of the Guardian Council) & Mr. Naveen P.S (Secretary of the Finance Committee) & Kelvin S Kumar (ICYM President) were also present.

Following the prayer service, by Rev. Fr Stephen Maxi Albuquerque, Parish Priest, seeking blessings for all elderly parishioners and praying for their health, joy, and continued guidance.

During the event, elders were presented with tokens of love and appreciation by the youth, accompanied by cultural performances like dance and enjoyed by creative games and heartfelt messages that brought smiles and tears of joy.

ICYM members express their sincere appreciation to the Parish Priest, Rev. Fr Stephen Maxi Albuquerque and all parish committees for their support and encouragement in organizing this meaningful event.

A special thank you to all ICYM members & Animator Mrs. Anitha Santosh, and to every parishioner who participated in making Elders' Day a memorable and blessed Occasion which Concluded with Meals with Lots of happiness & Blessings.
