Mangaluru, March 11 : "The Internet is becoming the town square for the global village of tomorrow." - Bill Gates

8th February 2022 was recognised as Safer Internet Day. The theme being “Together for a better Internet” the day called upon all stakeholders to join together to make the internet a safer and a better place for all, it also promotes a safer and more responsible use of online technology especially for children and young people around the world. This day was initiated in the year 2004.

The internet is a powerful tool with enormous opportunities for learning, enhancing skills and acquiring new abilities and knowledge, as highlighted during the COVID-19 pandemic. However, with opportunities comes risks. The goal of SID is to raise awareness, while at the same time taking concrete actions to provide protection for and empowerment of children and young people online.

St Agnes CBSE school also recognised this important day with a much enthusiastic session on awareness of cyber safety presented by Ms. Manjory Sanyal, Project Co-ordinator at Inchara Foundation. The sessions were conducted offline category wise to all grades. A class wise session and also online session for the parents were also held to create awareness and information on various internet threats. Cyber Bullying, Cyber Grooming, awareness about giving personal information to strangers etc were the key highlights of the session.

The Management and the Administrator are proud of the school for conducting this session thanking everyone for the active participation.
