Mangaluru, Nov 26 : “The power under the constitution will always be in the people”.

Constitution day is also known as Samvidhan Divas. It is celebrated in our country on 26 November every year to commemorate the adoption of the Constitution of India. On 26 November 1949 the constituent assembly of India adopted the Constitution of India which came into effect on 26 January 1950. It is also a day when the nation remembers Dr B. R Ambedkar the architect of the Indian Constitution.

As a part of the celebration St. Agnes CBSE School planned innovative activities to highlight and derive the values and principles enshrined in the Constitution. The important part of celebration was taking a pledge and reaffirming to uphold it by the students and teachers followed by the meaningful prayer service in the morning.

A short programme was organised under the leadership of teacher Sonia who was in charge of this event. Lighting of the lamp and Significance of the day was presented with students holding placards.

On this occasion as an important part of celebration the honourable President of India Shri Ram Nath Kovind read the Preamble of the Indian Constitution. This was a live telecast through online platform at Bock II Hall at 11:00 am. Students, teachers and non-teaching staff of the school participated in the live telecast. Quiz was conducted for the students of grade 7th to enhance the knowledge about our Constitution.

The day is served as a reminder to live by and promote these timeless values in our communities.

"The Constitution is not a mere lawyer's document, it is a vehicle of life, and its spirit is always the Spirit of Age."
