Mangaluru, June 21 :  “Yoga is the Journey of the self, through the self, to the self.” - Bhagavat Gita.

Yoga rejuvenates our mind, body and soul. It refers to uniting or joining. To mark the importance, we celebrate International Yoga Day 2021 on June 21st. This day has been observed since 2015. Ancient sage Patanjali is thought to be the Father of Modern Yoga.

International Yoga Day was declared by the United Nations General Assembly in its resolution on Dec 11, 2014.

This year we have a unique theme to mark this beautiful day.

“Yoga at home and yoga with family” the focus of the theme is to stay motivated at home and adopt a healthy lifestyle by doing exercise and yoga.

St Agnes School has enthusiastically begun its academic year yet again by encouraging students to be fit and healthy. With the support of the physical instructors , school students spent a valuable time with their families by doing Exercise, Asanas and Pranayama and giving their full support to mark this grand occasion. The department of education has fully encouraged the physical instructors to make it a grand success. The students and their families enthusiastically took part in the activities and captured their best moments to symbolise unity and togetherness.

Exercise helps us to stay optimistic and yoga helps to explore new ideas to spend time and earn money without going outside. Thus, the venue of this yoga day is everybody's own home. Let’s appreciate the theme of International Yoga Day and continue to practice yoga at home regularly.

Here is a glimpse of students' participation with their families.
