Mangaluru, June 12 : Banks are considered as one of the essential sectors which have been working throughout during this pandemic and have been giving their utmost service to the people. Considered as one of the essential sectors, a vaccination drive was held for all the bankers on 12th June 2021 at MCC Bank Administrative building.

The drive began with a small formal programme. Guest for the inauguration was Mangalore City Corporation Mayor Premanand Shetty and Deputy District Health Officer Dr Rajesh. The drive was inaugurated by lighting the lamp.

Mayor addressing the gathering lauded the organisers for organising such a needful drive.He mentioned that banks are considered as essential sectors and the employees are warriors rendering their services to the people. He wished everyone good luck.

Dr Rajesh speaking during the occasion said that COVID-19 vaccination is one of the largest vaccination drives in the world. Taking vaccine will help us to remain safe and will help us to fight against the pandemic. He mentioned the benefits of the vaccine and urged the people to remain positive. Smallpox was eradicated in the same way, let's fight to eradicate COVID-19 which will be fruitful very soon, said Dr Rajesh.

The first shot of the drive was administered to DGM of MCC Bank Ltd Mr Raj Menezes.

The medical team consisted of Medical Officers Dr. Soujanya and Dr Raihan, Staff nurses Sunitha and Shashikala, Pharmacists Shobha Asha and Safnaz.

Anil Lobo the Chairman of MCC Bank Ltd, Harish Acharya Chairman Vishwakarma Co-op. Bank, Praveen Kumar lead Bank incharge, Chitharanjan President of Athma Shakthi MultiPurpose Cooperative Ltd were present.

Credit Manager of MCC Bank Ltd Deril Lasrado compered the program. Nearly 400 employees of various banks and co-operative societies were administered Covishield vaccine.

Dakshina Kannada District Co-Operative Societies Deputy Registrar Praveen B Nayak and Lead Bank Manager Praveen Kumar were thanked for taking up the initiative to organise this drive. Gratitude was extended to the District Administration, District health department and Yekkur primary health centre for their support.
